We have started a new sermon series entitled “Jesus—I AM” in which we study through the Gospel of John looking at the seven “I am” statements.

This week we looked at John 5:1-18 which gives us the account of Jesus healing the man who couldn’t walk, and what this means for us in our lives now.

Born Again

This week we looked at John 3:1-8 which gives us the account of Nicodemus coming to Jesus in secret at night and Jesus teaching Nicodemus some new things.

Wine at Cana

This week we looked at John 2:1-11 which gives us the account of Jesus’ first miracle, turning water into wine at a wedding.

The Word Becomes Flesh

We are starting a new sermon series entitled “Jesus—I AM” in which we study through the Gospel of John looking at the seven “I am” statements. This week we looked at John 1:1-18 which introduces the concept of “The Word.”

God With Us

We are in the season of Advent as we prepare for the birth of Christ. This week we had a guest speaker, Claire Strunk of Communitas Church, who spoke to us about God’s presence, and how it doesn’t always feel like it should. The text for this Sunday was Matthew 1:18-25.

Old & New Covenants

This is the last sermon in our fall series “Exodus & Exile: God in the Wilderness,” which has taken us back to the Old Testament where we explored the two themes of “Exodus” and “Exile” throughout the book of Exodus and beyond. We are now in the second portion of our series in which we look at the them of “Exile” throughout the Old Testament.

This week we heard Mark preach from Jeremiah 31:43 and Ezekiel 36:25-27 as he talked about some of the covenants that we hear about in the Old Testament, and how they ultimately failed, but were replaced by a much better and completely different New Covenant.

Exile Living

We are almost done with our fall series “Exodus & Exile: God in the Wilderness,” which has taken us back to the Old Testament where we explored the two themes of “Exodus” and “Exile” throughout the book of Exodus and beyond. We are now in the second portion of our series in which we look at the them of “Exile” throughout the Old Testament.

This week we heard Mark talk about the life of a Jew in exile in Babylon, and the view that Christianity in America is on its way into exile. He also reminds us of the words from Jeremiah 29:1-7 which gave the Jews in exile some unexpected advice.

Re-Membering Your Family

We are continuing on in our fall series “Exodus & Exile: God in the Wilderness,” which takes us back to the Old Testament where we explore the two themes of “Exodus” and “Exile” throughout the book of Exodus and beyond. We are now in the second portion of our series in which we look at the them of “Exile” throughout the Old Testament.

This week we heard Krysann bring us into the world of Esther as she talked about the enmity that has existed among us, even among our families, and the new way that Jesus and the Gospel provides which can lead to reconciliation.

What Is Lament?

We are continuing on in our fall series “Exodus & Exile: God in the Wilderness,” which takes us back to the Old Testament where we explore the two themes of “Exodus” and “Exile” throughout the book of Exodus and beyond.

This week we began the second portion of our series as we explored the realities of hardship and sadness that are a part of the world we live in, and how God can meet us as we experience these difficult realities.. We looked at Lamentations 1:1-5 which provided the opening thoughts for exploring the theme of Exile.

The Golden Calf

We are continuing on in our fall series “Exodus & Exile: God in the Wilderness,” which takes us back to the Old Testament where we explore the two themes of “Exodus” and “Exile” throughout the book of Exodus and beyond.

This week we looked at Exodus chapter 32:1-20, in which the Israelites turned to worship a golden calf while Moses was up on Mt. Sinai.

More Than Enough

We are continuing on in our fall series “Exodus & Exile: God in the Wilderness,” which takes us back to the Old Testament where we explore the two themes of “Exodus” and “Exile” throughout the book of Exodus and beyond.

This week we looked at Exodus chapter 25 (along with selections from chapters 35 and 36), in which God gave the Israelites instructions on building the tabernacle. We hear how God asked them to provide the precious materials from the possessions that God had given them, and how this perspective can help us focus our own hearts on what “giving” really means.

Our fall series Exodus & Exile: God in the Wilderness takes us back to the Old Testament, where we explore the two themes of “Exodus” and “Exile” throughout the book of Exodus and beyond.

This week we looked at Exodus chapter 19, in which God gave Moses the ten commandments and made a covenant with his people, which ultimately showed how much he loves us.

Manna and Quail

Our fall series Exodus & Exile: God in the Wilderness takes us back to the Old Testament, where we explore the two themes of “Exodus” and “Exile” throughout the book of Exodus and beyond.

This week we looked at Exodus chapter 16, in which God provided manna and quail for the Israelites in the desert, and how this can teach us about God’s provision in our own lives today.

Take Off Your Shoes

Our fall series Exodus & Exile: God in the Wilderness takes us back to the Old Testament, where we explore the two themes of “Exodus” and “Exile” throughout the book of Exodus and beyond. This week we had a special guest speaker, Pastor Emmanuel Kassa, from Fountain of Hope Community Church, who brought us his unique perspective as he spoke on selected sections from Exodus.

Oppression

This week we started up our new series entitled Exodus & Exile: God in the Wilderness in which we explore these themes throughout the book of Exodus. This week we studied Exodus chapter 1 – 2:10.

Together

We are taking a brief break between sermon series, so today we heard a word from Philip who spoke on Philippians 1:10-17.

Paul in Rome

This Sunday we wrapped up our summer sermon series entitled “Praxis: A Community Filled with the Spirit”, which took us through the book of Acts as we followed the early Christians learning what it means to follow Jesus.

This week we looked at Acts 28:11-31, in which we hear of Paul finally getting to Rome and proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about Jesus.
