The Road to Emmaus
This Sunday as we gathered together on Zoom, Mark revisited the story of Jesus walking along the road to Emmaus with two disciples from Luke 24:13-35, from which our church community gets its name and “action words” (encounter, transform, send). As Mark says at most of our gatherings, “We are a community on a journey,” and we are all at different points in our own journeys as we journey together. This story which we revisit fairly often also has new meaning right now as we are all on a very different journey because of the current global situation, and really don’t know what may lie ahead.

We were able to record a short message that Mark gave over video, and spoke on John 14 in which Jesus gave his disciples a message that is also very timely to us now because of what is currently happening. The audio quality is not the greatest, and the end of the prayer did get cut off, but we still wanted to share a message of hope in this time of great uncertainty!
