Zoom Video/Audio Conference Info

The easiest way to join the Sunday meeting is by clicking the URL that is sent out each week in the weekly email, or but you can also join by entering the Emmaus Meeting Room ID number: 3 4 5 - 5 5 7 - 9 5 3 3

If you click the link for the meeting from the email that week, it should not require you to enter a password.  If you access the meeting room via the ID number, it will prompt you to enter a password, which will be sent out the morning of via the Emmaus Text Annoucements list to those who regularly attend.  If you would like to get added to this list, please send Sam an email.

If this is your first time using Zoom, you will be prompted to download the desktop client (if using a computer), or app (if using your smartphone).  It is a little easier to see multiple people at once if you use Zoom on your computer.

Enter your name so that people will know who you are.  This will also help the meeting host know who everyone is to quickly "admit" them from the waiting room into the meeting.

Once you have joined the meeting, you can choose to show your video, as well as mute or unmute your microphone. We have found that it works best if everyone leaves their audio on "mute" unless they need to speak, to prevent background noise from trying to "compete" with whoever is speaking.  If you need to talk to the rest of the participants, you can click "unmute" or press & hold the spacebar to temporarily unmute yourself.

There are also options to display only the person speaking (speaker view), or all of the participants (gallery view).  You can also use the chat function to send a message to specific people or everyone, which can be a good way to ask a question or make a comment while someone else is talking.

If anyone has any questions or issues connecting on the morning of, you can text Sam at 509-723-6017.  If you would like to join in but and haven't used Zoom before, it is a good idea to download either method listed above ahead of time and test your audio & video, to prevent any unknown connection problems the morning of.
